Isle of Man Athletics is responsible for many competitions covering all disciplines of athletics and all age groups.

Available to both unattached and club-affiliated athletes, they are a great opportunity to start your athletics journey, or compete against the island’s best athletes.

IOM TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Isle of Man Track & Field Championships takes place anually in July at the NSC, Douglas. All age groups and abilities can compete. Athletes must be members of an athletics club registered with England Athletics.

Please note U9’s, U11’s, U13’s, U15’s & U17’s may only compete in 3 events per day. Jun Men & Women may only compete in 4 events per day. All Athletes under the age of 15, may only compete in one distance race 9600m and above) per day (inc Race Walks)

Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 July 2025.

IOM 10,000M CHAMPIONSHIPS
Held at the National Sports Centre in Douglas, the event challenges athletes to complete 25 laps of the track, testing their speed, stamina, and tactical awareness.
Open to club runners and experienced competitors, the championship provides a great opportunity to chase personal bests in a controlled environment. With a competitive field and a supportive atmosphere, it’s a key fixture in the Isle of Man’s athletics calendar.

The 2025 edition will take place on Monday 5 May.

ISLE OF MAN MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON

The Isle of Man Marathon is a competitor friendly event taking place on the picturesque course in the north of the Island, nestled between England and Ireland. The Half Marathon has been voted in ‘Runners’ World’ as one of the top ten races in the United Kingdom

The 2025 event will take place on Sunday 10 August.

SYD QUIRK HALF MARATHON

The Syd Quirk Half Marathon has a rich history and several notable records. The event was first held in 1976 and has evolved over the years with changes in the course and the addition of a walking race in 2001.

Taking place annually in the south of the island, the event attracts elite and amateur runners and race walkers alike, and is a great way to get involved competitively.

The 2025 event will take place on Sunday 21 November.

NO REST FOR THE WICKED

The “No Rest for the Wicked” running series consists of 6 races in 6 days, taking place in August annually.

There are two leagues depending on your first race, i.e. a league for runners who enter the Marathon for their first race and a separate league for runners who choose the Half-Marathon.

ISLE OF MAN EASTER FESTIVAL OF RUNNING

Three races. Three days. One Island. The Isle of Man Easter Festival of Running is a three-day celebration of racing, competition, and social events, attracting athletes from across the UK and beyond.

Held annually over Easter weekend, the festival features three unique races: a 10K road race on Good Friday, a gruelling hill race on Easter Saturday, and a fast 5K road race on Easter Sunday.

With a lively atmosphere, stunning coastal and countryside routes, and a strong tradition of post-race socials, the festival is a must for both serious runners and those looking for a fun, competitive weekend of racing.

PEEL TO DOUGLAS TRAIL RACE

The annual Peel to Douglas Trail Run made a welcome return to the athletics calendar in September 2014 following a one year absence in 2013 and after the historic road race transferred to the Heritage Trail for safety reasons in 2011.

The distance is just over 10 miles and takes place along the old railway line. The route is a mixed surface consisting of tarmac, gravel and muddy trail. The 2025 event will take place on Sunday 21 September.

WESTERN 10 ROAD RUN

The Western 10 is a 10-mile road race organised by Western Athletic Club. The event offers participants a scenic yet challenging route that showcases the area’s natural beauty.

Open to runners of varying abilities, the race provides an excellent opportunity for both competitive athletes and recreational runners to test their endurance and enjoy the camaraderie of a well-organized community event.

The 2025 event will take place on Sunday 12 October.

NORTHERN 10 MILE ROAD RUN AND WALK

In loving memory of Rosemary Mazzone, the Northern 10 is a 10-mile road race and walk organised by Northern Athletic Club. Starting on North Shore Road in Ramsey, outside the Ballacloan football stadium, the route leads participants through Parliament Square, along the TT course towards Sulby, turning at Sulby Bridge, and returning via St. Jude’s and Jurby Road.

The event is open to all abilities, with a minimum age of 17 on race day. The 2025 edition will take place on Sunday 4 May.

MANX MOUNTAIN MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON

The Manx Mountain Marathon & Half Marathon, hosted by Manx Fell Runners, is one of the Isle of Man’s toughest and most scenic endurance challenges.

The full marathon covers over 31 miles (50 km) with more than 8,000ft of ascent, taking runners across the island’s rugged peaks from Ramsey to Port Erin.

The half marathon offers a shorter but equally demanding test over 13.5 miles (22 km) starting in St Johns. Both routes showcase breathtaking views and challenging terrain, making this a must-do event for fell runners seeking a serious test of endurance, skill, and mountain running ability.

The 2025 event will take place on Saturday 19 April.

IOM CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Isle of Man Cross-Country Championships is an annual event that brings together the island’s top athletes to compete across various age categories.

Typically held in January or February, this championship serves as the culmination of the cross-country season, often doubling as a round of the Isle of Man Cross-Country League. The 2025 edition took place on January 12 at Crossags in Ramsey, hosted by Northern Athletic Club.

RACE WALKING

PARISH WALK

The Parish Walk is the Isle of Man’s ultimate endurance walking challenge, covering 85 miles (137 km) and passing through all 17 island parishes. Starting in Douglas, participants have 24 hours to complete the full distance, with checkpoints at each parish church.

The event attracts elite racewalkers and determined challengers alike, with many aiming to reach Peel (32.5 miles) or further. With its mix of scenic coastal roads, rolling countryside, and tough climbs, the Parish Walk is a true test of physical and mental resilience, making it one of the island’s most iconic sporting events.

The 2025 event will take place on Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 June.

END TO END WALK
The End to End Walk is a challenging and iconic racewalking event held annually on the Isle of Man. Covering approximately 39.2 miles (63 km) from the northern tip at Point of Ayre to the southern town of Port Erin, it tests endurance and determination.

The route takes walkers through stunning Manx countryside, coastal roads, and rolling hills, with well-organized checkpoints along the way.

Open to both competitive racewalkers and determined participants, the event is a true test of stamina and a celebrated part of the island’s sporting calendar.

The 2025 event will take place on Sunday 14 September.
