Isle of Man Athletics requires all athletes wishing to be considered for selection for the 2027 Island Games in the Faroe Islands to complete a formal Declaration of Intent. Submission of a Declaration of Intent confirms an athlete’s availability, eligibility, and willingness to engage with the agreed training and competition programme in the lead-up to selection. Athletes are reminded that submitting a declaration does not guarantee selection, but it is an essential step in demonstrating commitment to representing the Isle of Man at the Island Games.
Achieving a consideration performance does not guarantee selection as there are significant financial and logistical challenges associated with the 2027 Island Games. The size of the travelling party will be considerably smaller than in past Games. There are no “B” consideration performances and it will not be part of the IOMAA policy to send younger, more inexperienced athletes who have not attained the consideration performance, to the Faroes.
