Isle of Man Sport Aid Academy Applications Open for 2026-2028 Cohort
The Isle of Man Sport Aid Academy has opened applications for its next intake, beginning in September 2026.
Sponsored by Suntera Global and Newfield, the Academy is designed to support promising young athletes through a structured development programme that focuses on building the skills, behaviours and habits required for long-term sporting success.
The programme is open to students who will be entering Year 10 in September 2026 and who will be aged 14 before 1st September 2026. Successful applicants will take part in weekly sessions on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the 2026/27 academic year.
Importantly, the Academy is not solely focused on recent sporting performances. Instead, it aims to identify young people who demonstrate strong development behaviours and are ready to benefit from a high-performance learning environment over time.
Examples of these behaviours include:
• Consistent commitment and attendance
• A willingness to learn and accept coaching
• Good communication skills and maturity
• The ability to respond positively to challenges and feedback
• Healthy routines and a good balance between school and sport
• Positive attitudes within training and team environments
The Academy provides young athletes with access to expert support, educational workshops and development opportunities, helping them build a strong foundation for future success in sport and beyond.
Parents and guardians of eligible athletes are encouraged to submit an application before the closing date of 30th June 2026.
