Manx athletes enjoyed a memorable weekend at the UK Athletics Championships, bringing home three medals, including a national title!

On Saturday, Jack Kinrade lined up in Round 1 of the Men’s 800m heats. Jack gave a valiant effort but was unable to advance, finishing his heat in 8th in 1:55.13. Jack has recently completed a long and demanding NCAA season in the USA, so we hope to see him bounce back strongly and continue to build momentum throughout the remainder of the season.

Later that day, Regan Corrin delivered another outstanding performance in the Men’s Long Jump, securing the bronze medal with a best jump of 7.76m. With both the gold and silver medallists surpassing the 8-metre mark, the competition was exceptionally strong, highlighting both the depth of talent in the event and the exciting progress Regan continues to make towards that magical milestone.

Sunday’s action began with Tim Perry in the Men’s 5000m Race Walk, where he produced a superb performance to claim the bronze medal in a new personal best of 24:40.76. Competing at the championships for the first time, Tim also made history by becoming the youngest-ever medallist in the event at just 15 years of age. We look forward to following Tim’s development in the many years to come.

The weekend concluded with David Mullarkey lining up in the Men’s 5000m. Entering the race as the fastest athlete in the field over the distance this season, David lived up to expectations with a commanding victory in 13:27.00. His success is the result of years of consistent progress, dedication, and hard work, and sees him crowned as the 2026 UK Champion.

Congratulations to Jack, Regan, Tim, and David on their achievements. Isle of Man Athletics wish them every success for the remainder of the season and look forward to seeing Jack, Regan and David represent the Isle of Man at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
