IOMAA Sprint Night provided an opportunity for athletes to test themselves over the sprint distances, with a programme featuring 100m, 150m, 200m and 400m races, as well as 4x100m relays.
There were some impressive performances across the age groups, with athletes from Manx Harriers AC, Northern AC, Western AC and Isle of Man Vets AC, alongside unattached athletes, taking part.
In the U14 girls’ 100m, Eve Martin of Manx Harriers AC took first place in 12.9, with Autumn Ryles (Northern AC) second in 13.5 and Rose Gumbley (Manx Harriers AC) third in 14.2. Martin also won the U14 girls’ 200m in 26.6, ahead of clubmates Mollie McMullan and Rose Gumbley.
Alexander Zurovs completed the U16 boys’ sprint double, winning the 100m in 12.3 and the 200m in 25.6. Daisy Elice Shimmin also recorded a double victory for Manx Harriers AC, winning the U16 girls’ 100m in 13.7 and 200m in 28.6.
In the senior men’s events, Jack Lemaire (Western AC) won the 100m in 11.7, while Ben Sinclair (Manx Harriers AC) took the 200m in 23.0. Alexander Bell completed the senior men’s 400m in 51.5, having also finished second in the 200m in 24.4.
The evening finished with some great relay action. Manx Harriers U12 Relay Rockets – Emira Bowden, Faye Robertson, Evelyn Stubbs and Esme Gibb – won the U12 girls’ 4x100m in 65.7. The Manx Harriers girls’ U14 team of Eve Martin, Mollie McMullan, Rose Gumbley and Willow Skillicorn then won their 4x100m in 57.2.
The final event saw Team Pure Speed, featuring Meghan Pilley, Jack Lemaire, Emma Riley and Daniel Stewart-Clague, take the senior mixed 4x100m in 48.9 for the Manx Harriers/Western combination.
